Students from Japan, Egypt, and Sub-Saharan Africa raise their awareness of the need for human resources who can serve as a bridge between their countries and deepen understanding of each other’s cultures and Africa’s diversity through collaborative online learning about SDGs and Hiroshima’s peace efforts.
Peace Education
With aspirations toward a free and peaceful international society that nurtures diversity, students develop their ability and skills to take on challenges toward realizing a sustainable society.
e-START Program
Students attempt to solve SDGs issues through collaborative online group work with students from different backgrounds.
Culture and Language Program
Japanese students learn about African culture, while international students will learn about the Japanese language and culture to deepen mutual understanding.
HU to Africa
Through the Triangle Education Program with both Sub-Saharan Africa and Egypt, students deepen their understanding of Africa, acquire knowledge and improve their skills in solving SDGs issues.
START Program (for undergraduate students)
Students participate in a 14-day training program (7 days in Zambia and 7 days in Egypt). They will learn about the SDGs efforts by various actors through special lectures at African universities and visits to Japanese companies in Africa.
HUSA Study Abroad (for graduate students)
Semester Study Abroad
Students participate in the semester exchange program at partner universities in Sub-Saharan Africa.
They study the field of education at the University of Malawi, and healthcare science and food security at the University of Zambia.
Short-Term Training in Egypt
After the Sub-Saharan semester exchange program, students participate in a short-term training program in Egypt. They attempt to apply what they have learned in sub-Saharan Africa to solving the SDGs issues in Africa.
Africa to HU
International students from Africa acquire knowledge and skills to solve the SDGs issues in their own countries through the Triangle Education Program, which they study at Hiroshima University and in sub-Saharan Africa.
HUSA Program (for graduate students)
Semester Study Abroad in HU
Students study education, health care science, and food security at Hiroshima University.
Sub-Saharan Short Training
After the semester study in HU, Egyptian students participate in a short-term training program in Sub-Saharan Africa. Students study how to apply what they learned at HU to solving SDGs issues.
